  • The new charger model was launched by Celsia at the Latam Mobility Colombia 2023 fair in Medellín.
  • It has improvements in size, design and weather resistance, and comes with LED lights that make it easy to use.
  • The charger sales in the country is growing, especially in Cundinamarca and Antioquia, and is beginning to penetrate other departments. About 4,000 units of the previous model have already been sold

Medellín, June 6, 2023.  Celsia, Grupo Argos’ energy company, continues to focus on electric mobility to reduce pollution in cities and contribute to reducing the country’s carbon footprint. As part of this purpose, today it launched a new residential electric vehicle.

“We improved the components and their internal distribution to guarantee the quality of the recharge, a longer service life and offer much more safety when using it. The electronic card and all the internal components in this charger are 100% Colombian; this allows us to have more flexibility for new developments and convenience regarding warranty issues,” said Luis Felipe Vélez, commercial leader of Celsia, stating that it is also the cheapest option available in the market and it is suitable for the three types of connectors available in the different vehicle brands currently in the market. It can be purchased via tiendacelsia.com or through the WhatsApp line 3103361353. Installation takes on average one to two weeks.

“Celsia’s commitment is to create mobility and charging infrastructure solutions. This is how we are contributing to boosting the electric vehicle market, guaranteeing the implementation of equipment for residential, commercial and public charging,” said the company’s business leader at Latam Mobility Colombia 2023 in Medellín, where this new model of household charger was presented.

These are some of the improvements in the new charger

  • Made of tempered glass and aluminum.
  • It is IP 54 certified, meaning it is protected against the sun, dust and water. This also means savings as there is no need to install a roof or other infrastructure to cover it.
  • Sophisticated and compact design that is more modern.
  • It is now very easy to know the charger’s status using the LED’s color code:
    • Off or no lighting:Means that the equipment is not connected to the power supply.
    • Green:Is ready to recharge the vehicle.
    • Yellow:Is communicating with the vehicle to begin the recharging cycle. It will also indicate that the vehicle battery has been 100% recharged.
    • Blue:Is charging.
    • Red:There is an error; you must contact Celsia customer service.

The ally

The charger was developed with the company Celsa (yes, like Celsia, but without the “I”), a Colombian company located in Guarne, Antioquia that is 51 years old. It offers comprehensive solutions and engineering in the energy, lighting and telecommunications markets.

This is how electric mobility advances in Celsia

We have installed 22 public and private charging stations in Valle, Antioquia, Tolima, Bolívar, Bogotá and Panamá, where users can find different technologies to charge their vehicles and continue their journeys.

  • The company ventured into the roadside fast-charging stations segment on the main roads in the south and center of the country, allowing drivers to make trips between cities, recharging quickly (20 minutes to an hour) at strategic points and with excellent equipment.
  • At Muverang, Celsia’s partnership with Sura and Bancolombia, people can rent electric vehicles. There are 726 vehicles available for rent, with cars and motorbikes being the most widely used.

About 4,000 first-model chargers launched by Celsia and Haceb have been sold, so that users can charge their vehicles in the peace of their home. These are the areas where chargers are sold the most.
